Laser Therapy is a drug-free, surgery-free therapeutic option for your pet.
A therapeutic laser generates a low-intensity laser light that penetrates a short distance below the skin to stimulate tissues in its path. The effect is rather like applying heat as it increases blood flow and appears to enhance cell function. The result can be a reduction in inflammation and increased healing.
Lasers are not dangerous and there should be no side effects. The dog’s eyes are protected, and goggles are worn by the operator so there is no chance of accidentally causing any eye damage from stray laser beams.
There are a couple of types of therapeutic lasers used, but they all work in the same manner. There are also surgical lasers that use a high-powered laser beam to cut tissue, but these are a totally different type of instrument.
